Terrified animal

Blinded by fear the animal roars.
The hunter knows he's safe.
Big man
Safe behind his gun.

Head down, the lion paws the earth
Whites of eyes showing hate
Big man, gun raised,
Evil grin etched on his heartless face.

The gun explodes
Hunters cheer
Big man poses
One foot bravely balanced,
Owning the once magnificent.

Body limp
Eyes vacant
Tongue lolling
Blood dripping

Big man raises his gun in salute
Cameras click.
Big man

Small, impotent mind.
